Due to growth and expansion of our turnkey Marine Survey services, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Base & Mobilisation Support Engineer to join the technical team at our head office in Bury st Edmunds.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the ideal applicant will either have a strong technical background in related subsea electronic technology or be qualified in electronics or IT discipline and can demonstrate the ability to transition into a new industry.
The applicant will need to demonstrate a confident “can do” attitude in a fast-paced environment and must be a team player. The applicant will need to be an excellent communicator and offer exceptional attention to detail.

Main Responsibilities
- Lead the pre-project preparation and configuration of the company’s Survey equipment packages (Survey, IT, Electronic), to meet project specifications & deadlines.
- Be part of the company’s out-of-hour’s Technical Support Team and work away from home to support Vessel mobilisations.
- Provide remote technical support and guidance to our offshore team’s.
- Responsible for post project testing, maintenance & repair of the company’s equipment.
- Create technical fault reports and follow company equipment testing procedures in line with company ISO processes.
- Keep up to date the company Asset Tracking System in line with procedures.
- Provide clear & effective communication between the workshop and operation teams.
- Assisting the Technical Manager with engineering development projects and taking on additional responsibility to support company requirements.
Requirements of Role
- Higher Education qualified in Electronic or IT Engineering or relevant academic or industry experience with strong IT/Networking Knowledge.
- Previous position within Offshore Survey, ROV operations or Marine electronic engineering desirable.
- Strong problem-solving outlook and excellent attention to detail.
- High standard of QHSE in the workplace.
- Ability to work independently and confidently when representing the company.
- Ability to follow procedures and processes correctly.
- High attention to detail with the ability to develop a strong knowledge of our core products and services.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and to deadline.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ambitious and self-motivated.
- Have a flexible and pro-active approach to working and learning in an industry recognised technology company.
- Clean UK driving license.
